White Tara Thangka — Large Format, Nepal, Newar Style

This large-format thangka depicts White Tara in Newar Tibetan Buddhist iconographic style, hand-painted on cotton canvas with natural mineral pigments and gold leaf. The composition follows standard White Tara iconography: the seven-point form with the right leg extended, one face and two hands, each holding a lotus. The Newar stylistic tradition gives particular attention to figure proportion, decorative detail, and color palette. Gold leaf is applied extensively to the background and deity elements.
