Eye Pattern Singing Bowl

Eye Pattern Singing Bowl

This singing bowl features a circular eye motif engraved around the outer wall, a design referencing traditional Vajrayana Buddhist protective symbol vocabulary. The bowl is handcrafted from a copper-tin alloy, hand-hammered to produce its resonant tone. When struck or circled with the included wooden mallet, the bowl produces a sustained harmonic tone with audible overtones.

Materials and Construction:

• Metal alloy: Copper-tin composition, hand-hammered; wall thickness varies slightly between pieces
• Eye Motif engraving: A ring of circular eye symbols around the outer bowl wall; each motif hand-engraved and finished
• Interior: Polished to a reflective finish to enhance tonal response
• Wooden mallet: Included; for striking the rim or circling the outer edge

Sound Profile:

The bowl produces a fundamental tone with two to three audible overtones, depending on strike angle and pressure. Wall thickness and the hand-hammering process affect the harmonic complexity. The fundamental frequency is in the low-to-mid range, consistent with bowls in this size class.

Use:

• Strike the rim or side for a single resonant tone
• Circle the mallet around the outer rim for a sustained harmonic drone
• Place on a cushion or resonance mat to amplify low-frequency response

Caring for Your Bowl:

• Store in a dry place; avoid contact with moisture or perfumes
• Wipe with a dry cloth after use to maintain the polished surface
• Handle carefully to avoid denting the bowl wall

Note: Each bowl is handcrafted; variations in diameter, wall thickness, and hammer marks are normal. The engraved motif is applied by hand; minor irregularities are characteristic of hand production.
