1. Read the material description
Confirm whether the piece is solid copper, sterling silver, plated metal, or a mixed-material design. Check for intentional oxidation, gilding, inlay, adhesive, thread, elastic, wood, bone, or porous stones. If the composition is uncertain, use the least aggressive method.
2. Remove moisture after wearing
