Yak Bone Dzi Mala Beads

This mala is made from yak bone beads and Dzi bead style beads, hand-strung on durable cord. Yak bone provides organic texture in warm ivory-to-tan tones. Dzi bead style beads are elongated barrel shapes with traditional pattern etching. A guru bead and silk tassel or braided cord finish the strand.

Materials:

• Yak bone beads: Natural yak bone; ivory to tan; visible grain
• Dzi-style beads: Traditional Tibetan-style Dzi bead form; elongated barrel with etched patterns
• Cord: Durable braided cord; ends finished with silk tassel or braided cord
• Guru bead: Single larger bead at the mala terminus

Use:

The beads are used for counting during mantra recitation or meditation practice. The standard count is 108 beads; the guru bead marks the starting and ending point.

Use and Handling:

• Remove before water, perfumes, or harsh chemicals
• Wipe with a dry cloth
• Store in a jewelry pouch or mala bag when not in use

• Avoid heat and strong sunlight: Prolonged exposure may dry, fade, or alter natural materials.
• Store separately: Keep in a dry pouch or lined box to reduce scratches and contact with harder jewelry.

Natural variation is part of the character of bone and horn; each piece may differ slightly from the photographs.
