Tibetan Museum-quality large painted Thangka of Yamantaka

Availability: 1 in stock

The renowned Tibetan master’s prized work, “Yamantaka,” features a multitude of characters and a complex composition, standing as a rare museum-grade thangka. Created with natural mineral pigments and gold threads, its intricate details and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true masterpiece. Adorned with the “Eight Ornaments of the Cold Forest,” including bone ornaments, a necklace of human heads, and other symbolic elements, it showcases various Tibetan Buddhist motifs. The deity is depicted wearing attire of pale green color, adorned with ornaments made from human bone, tiger skin, and elephant hide, standing with the left foot extended and the right leg bent upon a lotus pedestal, trampling a water buffalo.

Yamantaka is one of the most significant protector deities in Tibetan Buddhism, regarded as an emanation of Manjushri Bodhisattva and a loyal guardian of Gautama Buddha. He is believed to possess the power to eliminate obstacles and difficulties in the lives and practices of devotees. Followers often seek his protection from malevolent forces and misfortune.
